Hurricane Ida Update

New Orleans, LA – The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority – East (FPA) continues to prepare for Hurricane Ida. Ida is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane when it reaches the coast of Louisiana on Sunday with a possibility of life-threatening storm surge inundation and potentially catastrophic wind damage. Ida is expected to be a dangerous major hurricane when it reaches the northern Gulf Coast on Sunday with a risk of life-threatening storm surge inundation and potentially devastating wind damage. Flood Protection Authority – East Prepares for Tropical Depression Nine

New Orleans, LA – In preparation for a potential storm entering the Gulf of Mexico, leadership at the Flood Protection Authority – East (FPA) is closing several gates within the flood protection system. A total of 21 gates will be closed today, August 26th. Today’s closures will not impact roads, railways, or businesses.
