The Flood Protection Authority encourages the public to learn about the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System and the Mississippi River Levees and Floodwalls that protect the Greater New Orleans region from the impacts of tropical storm and flood events. The Flood Protection Authority holds the position that transparency enhances the quality of its work.

One means of providing information is through the publication of reports on the inspection of the flood defense system and the business of the Authority. Reports not published on our website can be obtained by submitting a public records request (see Contact Us page).
